My last CD recording in Santa Marta, Spain
Sometimes in our lives we make exceptions when our feelings overrule our professional obligations.
The recording of my last CD, was, like on many occasions in my artistic life, one of those occasions as when I was facing several options I chose to be faithful to myself, to my convictions and to what for me were my sincere and authentic moral values.
I never would chose success at any price. I have always preferred to stick with the values that shaped my personal and artistic life. And the decision to record the CD in the Hotel Santa Marta in Lloret de Mar in the Spanish province of Gerona instead of in a studio, as was usual, was taken due to a combination of artistic and personal reasons.
The compositions of Ricardo Lamote de Grignon and Joaquín Nin-Culmell revived within me the feeling of deep attachment I had with both of them. I decided to record in that ideal place, which replete with so many personal memories, and also due to the affectionate links I have with the Noguera Batlló family, owners of the hotel.
They, and the excellent team from “Solfa Recordings”, did everything necessary to ensure that my last CD, which I believe is a very special one, became a happy reality.
